XPLORE is a great study for someone who is relatively unlearned in God's heart for the world for a couple of reasons. 1) the information communicated is simple enough to keep anyone interested and won't bore them to tears. It's cheaper than a $200 course so more people can learn. 2) It is powerful. Using both the Word and the writings of some great scholars, this book cuts straight to the core and shows the need that surrounds us in this global environment. God used this simple course to make missions an option for my future, then a desire, then a passion.
I find that this book can be a very good tool to teach the churches about missions and missionaries to unreached people groups and how it is vital that the churches support long term missionaries to these areas. The reason why there are not many workers in these areas is because the churches won't support them therefore how can they go and make disciples of all Nations if the people and the churches don't stand behind them?? This book will help teach the body how important it is to support the workers..I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will use it to teach others when I go to raise support to go back over seas...
College students are ready to meet challenges and overcome obstacles. Get a college student who believes in Jesus, and look out. Xplore is a quick and great way to open the eyes of college students to the world beyond the United States. It teaches students to read the Bible differently, as a continuous story of God revealing himself to the nations rather than a self-help book that's centered on man.
It will spark interest in further research in global missions as well as increase awareness that God brings the world to us on the university campus.
It's exciting to think of what would happen if Christian students in college saw the world and the Bible the way Xplore teaches us to see. Endless possibilities for the kingdom of God!!
This booklet's lessons touch on the most important content for making the unreached a priority. Each lesson is fleshed out with biblical support, a short article, and a prayer point for an unreached people group. A few caveats 1) some questions required prior Bible knowledge, e.g. p. 6, "How was Abraham 'blessed to be a blessing' to all the peoples of the earth?" which was not addressed in the passage provided; 2) The biblical content in Lesson 6 seemed a bit forced when it came to the topic of "Mobilizing" and was not as strong as the other lessons; and 3) I could have used more space to write answers to the questions on Bible content. All in all, a good study that is directed at a younger (student) audience.
I used the XPLORE booklets for a girls Bible study in my dorm. Four girls and I went through six lessons that took us from the Biblical Basis of Missions to how we can apply that strategically and immediately. It was incredible! It was the first time in my life that I was able to show someone else God's heart for the world. The girls were exposed to things like the 10/40 window and the THUMB prayer for the first time. After the first lesson, one girl came up to me and said "I had always thought missions was for people were specifically called. But now, I mean... This is essential!"
Recruiting to an XPLORE study is great because it's only six lessons and it doesn't look too intimidating but is full of new info and lots of Scripture. I am so grateful for XPLORE and will continue to use it in my personal ministry.
What prevents so many college students from getting strategically involved in finishing the Great Commission? Answer a lack of education, both in understanding the Word of God and the mission mandate as well as the needs of the world and where the gospel is yet to be taken!!! Xplore is a practical, precise, and powerful tool to educate this college generation on how they can personally take part in the privilege of making disciples of all nations. Every Christian college student needs a copy along with 50 more to give to their friends.
