Paradox An FBI Thriller Book 22 edition by Catherine Coulter Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

I've been a fan of Savich and Sherlock since Catherine Coulter wrote the first book about them and I am still a fan at book 22. My only complaint is I get too involved and complete the book too quickly and still want more. Now I have to wait until the next book. Great writer, great read highly recommend this series. I would suggest starting with the first book in the series to become familiar with the characters and how they've developed instead of starting at this book. I'm confident you'll enjoy the entire series.

Paradox An FBI Thriller Book 22 edition by Catherine Coulter Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

Wow, another fantastic FBI thriller by Catherine Coulter!!! Can't get enough of this series, as well as the Brit in the FBI series. Every time Ms. Coulter comes out with another FBI story, I try to pace myself so I don't read it too quickly; unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!), her stories are so good that I just can't put them down! This "Paradox" took me two days . . . it is that good. If you haven't read any of the FBI Thrillers by Catherine Coulter, you should get started NOW! You can't go wrong with any of her novels.
I really like Catherine Coulter's books and have read them all. Paradox was a good read but I enjoyed some of her other books better. I really like the partnership of Savich and Sherlock. I did not like some of the unbelievability of the kidnapper and I also did not like the character of Sala Porto, an FBI agent visiting Willicott, Maryland with a girlfriend whom ends up murdered. It is difficult to properly discuss why I disliked the character without giving away plot and potentially ruining someone's read.

Overall, I would recommend this book especially to those who read Catherine Coulter. It is also a book that can be read as a stand alone.
Barbara's Rating ** 4.5 of 5 suspenseful stars **

Another pulse-pounding, non-stop action addition to the FBI Thriller series. This time it is very, very personal to Savich and Sherlock. In the early hours of the morning, Sherlock is awakened when she hears a series of almost inaudible chirps coming from their home alarm. That means that their home alarm isn’t active and being smart, savvy FBI agents, they have a plan for that. Savich heads downstairs to investigate and Sherlock heads to the nursery. The sight Sherlock sees knocks the breath from her. Someone is standing over her sleeping son and he has a knife in one hand and a gun in the other. After a bit of verbal and physical altercation, the culprit escapes through the cut screen in the window. Were they going to kidnap Sean for a ransom or was it even more sinister because someone wanted revenge against Savich or Sherlock?

Thus begins the first of the four mysteries that will be solved. I love that there isn’t just one case per book – just as in real life, the agents have more than one case to solve at a time. I also love the characters. They are all well-written and relatable. In addition to the continuing characters of Savich and Sherlock, we meet FBI agent Sala Porto who is both a victim and an investigator and Willicott, Maryland’s Police Chief Ty Christie.

Ty gets up very early each morning to have a cup of the sludge-thick Turkish coffee she loves. As she walks onto her back deck she sees a small rowboat out on foggy Lake Massey. There are two figures in the boat, but she can’t determine if they are male or female or even make out anything recognizable about them. Then, to her astonishment, one swings the boat oar at the other and then pushes the body off the boat and into the lake. Ty immediately calls in her deputies and then gets into her own boat and heads out to see if she can rescue the victim. There isn’t a body there! Was the body already weighted before they were struck and dumped into the water? Ty then calls in the local who drags the lake to search for the body. They are all shocked when they not only find the body but bones from a number of other skeletons. Somebody has been using the lake as a body dumping ground for a very long time. Does Willicott have a serial killer in its midst?

Are all of the cases interrelated? The investigations intertwine and separate and intertwine and separate. That is just to say that there are many, many unexpected twists and turns.

I do have to say that I miss seeing Savich’s ‘visions’ playing a part in the case and I also missed MAX even though he was featured just a bit.

It was a great read and I hope you’ll love it as much as I did.
This is another wonderful Book by Catherine Coulter. I normal read an hour at a time. I couldn't put it down.
I keep thinking. OMG they weren't going to let those crazies get Sean. I love how she brings in a new Agent and yet doesn't forget some of the other Agents. I love to read and am not a writer but if you have read the other books from Catherine Coulter, you will enjoy this one.
I only hope they will have another child to add to the mix. I love way Dillon has the second sight. That is another enjoyable part of reading her Books.
I love Ms. Coulter's books! I've read every FBI thriller & every Brit in the FBI, I agree with most of the readers - I get so involved, I read it much too quickly & then the wait for the next one seems endless. This one had me from the get go. The attempted attack on Sean to the murder on the lake. I've given up on trying to solve Ms. Coulter's mysteries, cause sure enough when I am positive, there's one more curve in the road, one more turn that leaves me speechless & totally wrong it who I thought did what.

Being retired perhaps gives me an advantage over a few other readers - I don't have to get out of bed at a certain time each day so I can read late into the night. But then again, it puts me at a disadvantage to others - my grandsons blame 'one of those FBI books' on my being too tired to play. If you keep writing your wonderful mysteries that twist & turn, I will keep reading & make those boys understand Grandma does have a life!
Have to say that this book disappointed me! I have read all her books, and am usually intrigued by the mystery and the dual plots and expect to be surprised. This was so predictable, that there was no suspense at all. Also, the endless "talking to Lessie" was boring, and not at all a mystery. She should stick to her coauthored series of the Brit in the FBI. Much better written, more suspense.
